RESERVATION & LICENSING

**RESERVATIONS REQUIRED**

Licenses are obtained directly from the State of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks.  The cost of the license and tags are not included in the price of the hunt.  We are happy to assist you with the licensing process.

A 50% deposit is required to book a hunt with the balance due 30 days prior to your hunt. If booking more than 1 year in advance, a deposit is required to hold your spot.

We welcome non-hunting companions whenever possible. The cost is $1000 per week. Contact us early so we can make any necessary adjustments if you are interested.

If you can’t make your hunt, we can defer your hunt one year.   There are no deposit refunds.

We encourage all interested folks to contact our past clients for a realistic preview of the hunting opportunities we enjoy.  A full Reference list is available upon request.

Hunting areas may vary according to conditions and circumstances at the discretion of the Outfitter.

WHERE ARE WE?

In MONTANA

We are located in South Central Montana in what they call the “Gold West Country” just Northeast of Helena, Montana.

ALTITUDE & TEMPERATURES:

The City of Helena sits at an altitude of about 3800 ft. Our camp is located in the Big Belt Mountains at about 5,700 feet with the surrounding mountains rising to approximately 8,000 feet.

Summer temps range from 85-100 degrees Fahrenheit during the day and can drop to 30 degrees Fahrenheit at night. In the Fall the days can still get quite warm but the nights often cool down into the 20’s or lower. Whenever Winter arrives, the temperatures can get downright cold (below zero) and not rise much during the days.

AIRPORTS:

We primarily use the following airports, depending on your needs.

  • Helena Regional Airport
  • Dickinson Theodore Roosevelt Airport – in North Dakota. Just over an hour east of our Eastern Montana deer and upland game bird hunting.  Many deer hunters utilize this airport.

HUNTING GEAR:

Along with your regular hunting items, these are extra things that might be helpful.

  • A sling for your BOW or RIFLE, we are going to be hiking
  • Enough AMMO– BULLETS or ARROWS
  • FALL/WINTER HUNTING GEAR – Jacket/vest with pockets, warm coat, day pack, broke-in boots/packs, extra dry socks, cap or hat, gloves. Remember silence is golden. Make sure that your gear is made of quiet material. Try to avoid materials and clasps that are noisy.
  • CLOTHING – We usually dress in layers, so we are prepared for whatever the weather decides to do. Several layers are best for regulating your body temperature and remember quiet is important. Wool is still a good choice – warm, quiet, cleans easily in the snow, and is durable.
  • MISCELLANEOUS ITEMS –  Binoculars, waterproof match box, hunting knife, camera, boot grease, flashlight, range finder, extra batteries or solar charging station.
  • MORE HELPFUL THINGS: Rope , an extra knife, a folding saw, knife sharpener, and light that clips on my hat (hands free), gutting gloves, flagging tape, hand warmer packs, lip balm.
  • We are off the grid and the main camp is out of cell service . Certain points on ridges allow for good cell connection.

OTHER PERSONAL ITEMS:

Towel, biodegradable soap & shampoo, toothbrush and paste, lotion,
